What is Udio?

Udio is an AI tool that allows users to create music from simple text prompts by specifying topics, genres, and other descriptors which are then transformed into professional-quality tracks. It was released publicly last April and has become popular among creators and musicians.

In regards to pricing, Udio offers several subscription plans. It has a free plan with a limited daily quota and basic features. The paid plans that start at $10 per month offer more advanced functionality.

How To Generate Tracks in Udio

To generate music on Udio, you’ll need to add text prompts to specify how you want the track to sound. You can add the type of instruments, music genre, atmosphere, and any other descriptors.

You can also select tags from Udio’s suggestions located below the prompt box. Moreover, the platform also allows you to add your lyrics if you have. Furthermore, Udio has the capability of creating either an instrumental track or music with vocals.

If you want to create an acapella track, choose Instrumental. However, if you’re going to have vocals in your music, you can either select Custom or Auto-generated. Choose Custom if you want to add your own lyrics while Auto-generated if you want Udio to generate the lyrics.

A Manual Mode is also available if you want to directly interact with the Udio model rather than have your prompt rewritten. This a great feature to specifically control your musical generations.

Tips for Generating Tracks Using Udio

Use Square Brackets in Your Lyrics

Square brackets can be used to add non-verbal prompting in Udio. This is very useful when you to add specific cues such as emotions to your music track. For example, adding “[Scream]” before a section will prompt Udio that there should be a change in emotions when generating that part of the track.

Maximize Music Direction

The track generated by Udio is mainly based on the prompts you added. With that in mind, it is important to add as many specific keywords as you can. For example, you can specifically add the tempo, the song key, and the genre of the track you want to create for better results.

Final Thoughts

Udio is a powerful AI tool to generate lyrical and instrumental music. It is a great tool for creators who want to generate music for their projects using AI. It is also an amazing platform for musicians to share their works with the public.
