Free Party DJ Jingles & DJ Drops

We’ve previously written about DJ drops – pre-recorded voiceovers which state a DJ’s name and which get airtime during DJ mixes as a form of branding. Drops are ideal whether you’re working for a radio station, at an event or creating a mixtape, podcast or anything else. (Alternatively, use them as a promotional tool for clubs and producers so they know who you are and the kind of music you play.) 

DJ drops can go a long way to helping you build your DJ image, and they help promote who you are. 

When you are DJ-ing at an event one of these DJ jingles can really help to get the party started. It also makes it easier then to keep it going with high energy levels. Do bear in mind, however, that it is possible to overuse DJ jingles in a set – so we’d probably recommend using yours no more frequently than once every 10 minutes if used live in your mix. 

What Should Every DJ Drop Include?

It’s entirely up to you what you include in your drop. There are no hard-and-fast rules, so it can be as simple or as complicated as you wish. 

That said, you should definitely include your name, since this is the audio equivalent of a business card. Plus it’s also worth plugging your personal website and social channels so people can follow you. 

And, ideally, a shorter drop of ten words or fewer is likely to be more effective than something that’s overly long. 

You could say something like ‘You’re in the mix with …’, ‘You’re now rocking with …’, ‘Playing live, it’s …’, ‘Keeping the party going all night long, it’s …’

Equally, if you identify particularly strongly with and love where you’re from, you could also work in your town or city name as well.
