In creating video content, a well-recorded voice-over can improve the quality of your project. It can provide context, narration, or storytelling. Adobe Premiere Pro offers tools to help you record and insert voiceovers directly within your project. In this blog post, I’ll walk you through the process of recording and inserting a voice-over in Premiere Pro.
Check your Settings
Before you start recording your voice, it is important to make sure that your equipment is properly set up. Devices like your microphone and audio interface should be checked. In addition, you should examine your recording settings to avoid problems like echoes and noise.
How to Record Your Voice in Premiere Pro
Recording your voice in Premiere Pro is a very straightforward task. To do this, just click the Record button on your timeline.
Start talking and then press the Spacebar to stop recording. Make sure to listen to your voiceover to check if there’s no problem with it such as background noise.
How To Generate AI Voice Over
If you are like other content creators who are not confident with their voices, you can use AI to record your scripts. Although there are so many AI applications out there, in this blog post, I’ll suggest using another Adobe product — Adobe Audition.
Adobe Audition has an awesome feature that enables you to generate your own AI voiceover. To do this, go to Effects > Generate > Speech.
On the Generate Speech window, type in your script. Before you let it generate your voiceover, make sure to go over Settings. You can set the Language, Gender, Age, Speaking Rate, and Volume to your liking. Once set up and you typed in everything, just click the OK button. Finally, Save it on your computer.
To import and use your generated AI voiceover, just follow the steps below.
How to Insert a Voiceover in Premiere Pro
There are instances when we already have a pre-recorded voiceover on our computer. In this case, what we can do is just import it into our Premiere Pro workspace. To do this, go to Import, open the local folder where you saved it on your computer, and choose the file. And then finally, click the Import button on the bottom right side of your dashboard.
Another thing you can do is just to drag and drop the file directly from your computer into your Premiere Pro workspace.
Now, when you have the file in your workspace, just drag it into your timeline. Yup, that’s how easy it is to insert a voiceover in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Final Thoughts
Voiceovers are important in producing video content. To add voiceovers in Premiere Pro, you can either directly record it using the software or import a pre-recorded file. It’s very easy to do either way.
If you are someone who doesn’t want to record their voice, Adobe Audition’s AI voiceover tool is your friend. With this feature, you can easily generate your very own AI voiceover. You can then import your recorded AI voiceover into your audio workspace.
