Plugins offer a wide range of functionality and features that aren’t usually included in standard editing software. These need separate payments but are worth it if you want the additional tools. To be clear – plugins are not the same as Premiere Pro Presets – the latter are settings that users can create and share with others – just like I did. In this blogpost, I share my ultimate audio processing chain that includes my top 5 plugins for Premiere Pro.

StudioVerse From Waves

The StudioVerse is a great tool for mixing different plugins. Waves (company behind it) brands it as the largest online preset library for audio. It offers a library of presets and plugins that can be used in any Digital Audio Workstation. This is the plugin we will use to chain the next plugins on this list.

To add this plugin to your audio track, just drag and drop it to any track in your timeline. After you do that, you can then see the StudioVerse plugin in the effects control and you can start adding presets or plugins.

Clarity Vx DeReverb

Clarity Vx – DeReverb is a very simple plugin that removes room echo. This plugin uses neural networks to eliminate room reverb. Moreover, this tool also allows you to increase the vocal presence of your recording while removing the echo.

To use this plugin, just type in ‘Vx’ in the search bar of your plugin chain. Then select Clarity Vx – DeReverb. Then on the new tab, just increase the amount of DeReverb to remove the unwanted echo. If you feel like some of the vocal presence has been lost, increase the presence percentage.

Clarity Vx

The next on our list is similar to DeReverb but instead of removing room echo, it removes background noise from your audio. This plugin is called Clarity Vx. It’s an AI-driven plugin that eliminates distractions such as background hums, hisses, or chatters.

To access this plugin, type in ‘Vx’ in the search bar of your plugin chain. Similar to DeReverb, you just have to turn the dial to the right to reduce the ambience of the audio. Depending on how complex the noise is, you might need to turn it close to 100.

Vocal Rider

Vocal Rider is such a clever plugin that levels out the speaking volume of a recording. It automates the task of balancing vocal levels by adjusting the volume of your tracks in real time. This might be the fastest producer we have on a fader or mixer.

To use this plugin, go to Plugins > Dynamics > Vocal Rider(sc). Once added to your plugin chain, it will automatically increase or decrease the fader to even out the vocal level of your recording. You’ll just have to watch it do its job.

Silk Vocal

The final plugin on our list is Silk Vocal. This is like a one-stop shop to make your audio sound better. It’s a tool that does an amazing job of removing bad frequencies. It’s the perfect plugin if you want to add a touch of warmth and elegance to your audio.

To access this plugin, go to Plugins > Dynamics > Silk Vocal. On the Silk Vocal tab, you just have to control the 3 dials which allows you to make changes to the low, mid, and high frequencies of your audio. So if you need to remove muddy bass, you can just increase the low dial. However, if you want to correct the sibilance of the audio, then use the high dial.

As a final touch, you can also use the Dynamics dial on the Silk Vocal tab. This is like an overall compression. You can manipulate the dial to finalize your audio and make it sound nice and clear.
