Let’s learn more about the person behind the voice! We asked him some questions to give us a peek into his life and work:
What is the most exciting project you EVER got to work on?
Being the voice for a Princess Diana Documentary for AMC America and UK TV.
What is the most exciting project you worked on in 2015?
Being the voice for a Charlie Chaplin Documentary.
Can you give us a short history of what you do?
I started like any other voiceover artist…. a microphone and a teddy bear. My first job was for Powerhouse Electrical in 1993… they soon went out of business. From there, I was classically voice trained in Nottingham and went on to voice for the world’s biggest stars such as Paul Simon, Sting, Paul McCartney, Calvin Harris, Michael Buble’, Rod Stewart, Bette Midler and more! I’m also a dab hand at singing, parody voices, radio imaging and basically anything with a few ££££’s attached to it!
How did you get into voice acting?
Hospital Radio and the Oldcoates Women’s Institue… It is a rather long story, so don’t bother asking!
Who is your role model in the voice over/acting industry?
Brian James and Mike Hurley.
How do you warm up to record each session?
Blow Raspberry’s and say my vowels… sometimes sing!
What is your favorite piece of audio recording kit and why?
Could you tell us something about you that we could not find anywhere in your CV/Website/Social Media profiles?
I am the voice of a penis for a mobile phone app.
