What is your real name?

Frances Helen Townend – just changed from Stecyk when I got married last 2014.

What is the most exciting project you EVER got to work on?

The most exciting project I got to work on was a series of radio and TV commercials for The Hudson Bay Company. I was originally cast when then wanted a sexy Valentines commercial with a Kim Cattrall-like voice, and they kept me on as the mom-next door. It was so cool!

What is the most exciting project you worked on in 2015?

2015’s most exciting project is a video for Mothers Against Drunk Driving where I’m playing a police detective.

Can you give us a short history of what you do?

What I do…… SO MANY THINGS! I’m a trained professional singer and spend many afternoons performing one hour variety shows at seniors residences – often as Marilyn Monroe or Lucy or in Victorian quartettes. I’m also a stage and film actress. My favourite commercial this year is for Harlequin Romance – where the book came to life, and I spent the afternoon with a half-naked Marine nuzzling my neck. I also spent a month in northern Ontario performing the world premier of play called ‘Swing Dance’. In between all these things – including voice work, and many auditions – I run a Rubber Stamp company, manufacturing custom stamps for local businesses. And I’m a mom & wife.

How did you get into voice acting?

I got into VOICE ACTING – when I was cast as several characters, both living and ghostly, and speaking ‘Elvish’ in the video game TWO WORLDS II.

Who is your role model in the voice over/acting industry?

Actually he’s more of a mentor, Andrew Grant of 3ASound who is a constant inspiration and source of support.

How do you warm up to record each session?

I do vocalizations and tongue twisters and stretch my jaw and mouth.

What is your favorite piece of recording kit and why?

My fav piece of Audio Recording kit is my PRO Tools program. I’ve been working with it for a few months and love it and have so much more to learn!

Could you tell us something about you that we could not find anywhere in your CV/Website/Social Media profiles?

The first time I drove a car, I hit a house.
